MSME Registration (Udyam Registration) is Free of Service. First of all, I have to tell you this firmly. Lots of cheating websites are on the internet to cheat us. The reason to write this article is for alerting our Entrepreneurs only. These fraudulent websites cheat entrepreneurs daily and collect more money from them.
Book Keepers and auditing agencies collect big money for these free services in some cases. I have many living examples with me. Though they are all well educated, They have been cheated.
It is Free of Service. It is a Self-declaration. No Verification will be from the government side. It is a pure government service. So there is no need to pay anyone. This is a free service from the government.

If you Search for “MSME registration” or “Udyam Registration” in a Search Engine, You may see too many sites. But
There’s only one website is to register is https://udyamregistration.gov.in/.

How to be Ready for Registration?
First, you should have some basic needs for this Registration. Aadhaar number and its corresponding mobile number to receive OTP(one-time-password).
Bank account details like account number, IFSC code and Name of Bank and Branch. PAN, GSTIN numbers are mandatory for some cases.
Challenges on MSME Registration
We can’t find any difficulties with MSME registration. But Some of them find fault with this system. The government has designed such an anyone can register easily. But as I told earlier below mentioned areas are considered as challenges.
OTP from Aadhaar Site
As I told you earlier, Please be prepared before Registration. Just check your mobile number with the Aadhaar site by sending OTPs. Once It is Ready. Then Start your Udyam Registration. It is very simple than booking a cinema ticket.
Relevant NIC code for your business
NIC code is nothing but the National Industrial Clarification code maintained by the CSO.
Central Statistical Organisation (CSO) of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme, Government of India, hosted by National Informatics Centre
Every Business in India has been classified with this code. It has been segregated by Sections A to U, Divisions 01 to 99, Groups 011 to 990.
So your Business Some how classified within these Classifications. I Don’t think so, which is so hard to find your Business.
You may be an expert in Bullet Mechanisms. So You may not be able to find your direct Business. Example: Repairing and maintaining Bullets, But it May Classified as
Section G | Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles |
Division 45 | Wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles |
Group 452 | Maintenance and repair of motor vehicles |
For Fresh Registration
Fresh Registration Means those who have no company yet. But coming First time to https://udyamregistration.gov.in/ website managed by Ministry of Micro Small Medium Enterprises Government of India.
Aadhaar number and its connected mobile number to receive OTP(One Time Password)
Only the Aadhaar number is enough for the proprietor in the case of a proprietorship Company, for the managing partner in the case of a partnership company and for a Karta in the case of a Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) Company.
If your company belongs to Limited Liability Partnership (LLP Company), a Cooperative Society, a Society, a Trust, and the organisation or its authorised signatory shall provide its GSTIN, PAN, and along with its Aadhaar number.
Migration from UAM
UAM is the Udyog Aadhaar number. Provided before 1st July 2020. Now Udyam Registration is the name for this. Earlier, GSTN was not required for Registration. Now it is mandatory.
Just you do update your GSTN with old UAM and print new.
